Imam Khomeini symbolized Islamic honor and defense of oppressed

The name of Imam Khomeini (RA) remains a symbol of resistance, Islamic dignity, and the defense of the oppressed, said Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and member of the Provincial Assembly, during a commemorative event in Quetta marking the anniversary of the late founder of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Speaking at the ceremony, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman highlighted Imam Khomeini’s lasting legacy, describing him as an enduring inspiration for truth-seekers and freedom fighters around the world.

Imam Khomeini’s name is synonymous with standing up against oppression and advocating for the rights of the downtrodden. He embodied Islamic courage and integrity,” he stated.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader stressed the urgent need for sincere and determined efforts to secure people’s rights and resist injustice in today's world. Referring to the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, he held the United States and the Zionist regime primarily responsible for the ongoing atrocities but also criticized the silence and inaction of Muslim leaders and military heads.

“In a time when the Muslim world possesses millions of soldiers, vast arsenals, and even nuclear weapons, the genocide in Gaza continues unchecked,” he remarked, condemning the collective failure of Muslim nations to act decisively.

Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman further emphasized the global impact of Iran’s Islamic Revolution. “Imam Khomeini awakened not only the people of Iran but inspired a worldwide call for justice, especially among the oppressed Palestinians. His message continues to light the path for justice movements across the globe,” he added.

Concluding his address, he called for unity, courage, and faith within the Muslim Ummah to fulfill the collective responsibility of liberating Palestine, stating, “Freedom for Palestine must be achieved through solidarity and unwavering commitment.”
